...I'd still LOVE to have this apartment! It's a converted CLOCKTOWER, and it's on the market for a cool $25Million.
A-mazing.

MY animal with a cast!
I know you guys must have loved the animals with casts post a couple days ago, and oddly enough- the next day I was going through some CD's I found in a drawer and discovered a TON of old photos from when we lived in Philly!
Sure enough, I found a picture of our little doggie ROMEO... with a CAST! :)
Awwww!
He tore his little nail when he was running outside, and they had to remove it completely and let it grow back. After the surgery, he was in this cast for 2 weeks!
He looks like a pirate with a wooden leg!
We 'gon party like it's ma birfday...
Yesterday was Carmin the Canadian's BIRTHDAY! That's right, a fierce Leo lionness, who loves the spotlight- who would've guessed? lol
I LOVE birthdays and I had a fantastic birthday this year! It was hard to top last year's weekend birthday party in Miami, though! ;)
This year, I told Dan I wanted it to be low-key. We've been travelling a LOT this summer, and I just wanted a weekend here in the city that I love. We had brunch at Norma's at Le Parker Meridien hotel (www.normasnyc.com) and then met up with our friend Brandon (an NYC transplant to Miami) who arrived back in town yesterday for the week. We had a few fabulous martinis at a couple great bars in Chelsea, and then got birthday cake at Billy's bakery. Coconut cake...yummm!!!
A wonderful birthday full of wonderful birthday wishes from WONDERFUL friends!

Lake Champlain

Last weekend, we rented a lakehouse on Lake Champlain and my family drove down from Montreal to West Chazy, NY. We were almost all there- missing my younger brother Brad, and my husband Dan (both had to work.) My brother Stan and niece Freja were visiting from Copenhagen, and my older brother Nolan was with me from L.A. With me in NYC and my younger brother in Woodstock, Canada (that's on the east coast, north of Maine) it's big job to get everyone together in one place!
On Saturday, I went with my mom and my 3 teenage nieces to Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George (and all day long, we kept singing "If I could escape.." the Gwen Stefani song :) The men all went golfing for the day. We had lots of campfires, lots of music with my brothers playing guitars and my dad on the fiddle. I even got an early birthday party! My birthday is this Sunday, but we decided any opportunity to eat cake is cause for a celebration! It was a great time, and we can't wait to go back again!

Amazing Kids' rooms!
Where was this company when I was a kid?! This interior design company has created some absolutely amazing kids rooms! Check out their website
I love the treehouse room! So cool! Man, I want a treehouse in my bedroom, no fair!
Hidden Passageways
Ok, now HERE's a great website that specializes in creating secret passages and hideaways! I'm totally putting these in my house someday! Imagine how fun to move a book on a bookshelf and the whole thing opens up to a secret room?! I love looking through the gallery to see different secret passageways. Neat-o!

If I had a kitchen...
If I had an actual kitchen (not a closet) I would totally buy THIS! Does anyone have one? Would you recommend it?

Bleached out eyebrows

Fashion alert! The next big thing seems to be bleached eyebrows! That's right, you put BLONDE hair color on your eyebrows (carefully!) to lighten them so that they're almost invisible. Check out fashion model Ranya Mordonova and her "dark hair/no eyebrows" look. Huh, maybe this is good for me because I'm always trying to pencil and fill in my eyebrows so that they actually SHOW UP in pictures next to my fair skin. Or...maybe it won't look good on blonds- too much paleness going on? What do you think? Do you like this look?
How to Cope with CSA stress
I found this article at one of my fav nyc blogs: Not eating out in New York (www.noteatingoutinny.com) CSA's are becoming really popular, and this article has a lot of good advice on how to deal with unused produce, excessive amounts of one particular food, or not having the time to pick up your weekly bounty of organic, small-farm produce.
Check out the article HERE
(Good one for my friend Amy, who's been blogging about her CSA this summer! Check it out!)
Stan Blinn : Hole in One!
This weekend, my family got together at Lake Champlain in upstate New York. My brother, Stan Blinn, got his first ever HOLE-IN-ONE while golfing with my other brother, Nolan, my dad, and my uncle. He recieved a trophy from the golf course, his name will be engraved on a plaque in the clubhouse, and they reported the event in the newspaper! Stan lives in Copenhagen, Denmark and this was his first time at this course in Peru, New York.
