If you missed it...

If you missed out my performance with the Coup 2 weeks ago, never fear! We are kicking it AGAIN at Peabody's Pub in Havertown THIS FRIDAY at 9:30pm! Can't wait! The set list is hot, and we're gonna go bananas all up in that place!

I'm super excited for the show Friday night, crashing with Joe & Erika, then heading back to NYC on Saturday for CHELSEA HANDLER at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night with Cory and Carmen T. !! PLEEEEASE make the weekend come faster!

Oh and HEYYYY... our trip to Toronto is just 2 weeks away! Me, Cory, and Dan are gonna paint the town (Canada-flag) RED with my Canadian friends! Can't wait to be back in my home and native land!

panic attack!

While we were headed out the door this weekend, I happened to look down at my finger and noticed my diamond engagement ring was NOT on my finger. I panicked, and Dan, Brandon & I tore the whole place upside down looking for it. After 20 minutes of searching, we STILL hadn't found it; now I was beyond panicking!

Dan was the hero that finally found it...at the bottom of the TRASH CAN! Can you believe it? I felt sick just thinking about what would have happened if that diamond would have been thrown in the trash!

Lesson: stop being so distracted and rushing to get out of the house. Dan said that the lesson was to not give him a hard time about losing his iPhone this week :)

Gregory's

I stopped here for coffee this morning (I walk by this cafe on 44th and 6th almost every day) and I always think of Michelle and Nathaniel! Their little baby is named Gregory!

Cute!

Over postaging

Remember a couple years ago when we were warned about accepting mail with excess postage because of the threat of ANTHRAX? That's what came to mind when I recieved this letter at my office today.

It made me laugh, though! I can picture this lady raiding her kitchen junk drawer, searching for 1 cent stamps. And man, her tongue must have been dry after licking them!

...speaking of which, why haven't they invented flavoured envelope glue yet? Someone needs to get on that...

51, people. FIFTY-ONE!

Natural: Madonna poses in a sexy photoshoot, but judging by the imprint left on her torso by the fishnets, it seems she's remained untouched by the airbrush

Oh, Madonna. How is it possible for you to have those amazing abs of steel at 51? Oh yeah, right... Hundreds of Millions of dollars and a thousand times more willpower than the rest of us.

Oil Spill Explained

Sunset on the Hudson

Just had to share this gorgeous and serene picture I took from our dining table last night. What a view, right? We are blessed to have a quiet home with a peaceful view in the midst of this crazy, loud city!

Times Square Scare

Hi everyone- crazy about the bomb that was discovered in Times Square this weekend! Have you heard? Well, here’s our side of the story: as some of you know, we live very close to Times Square. Our building is just 3 avenues west of where the bomb was discovered. Only the tourists in the streets of Times Square were evacuated, not the people in the residential buildings, so we were fine. At the time the whole thing happened, we were actually shopping at Diesel on 59th and Lex. Normally, we take the subway through Times Square to get back home, but it was hot and we took a cab instead. The cab drove us across the park and down the west side (again, unusual, since we would usually come down the east side and then across 42nd street, through Times Square, but hey, in retrospect, it all worked out for the best. It would have been madness to be in the subways or traffic as they were evacuating, so thankfully we avoided it all.

I’m very grateful to the street vendor who was alert and responded quickly when something seemed to be “off” about that car. Being alert and being observant is VERY important when you live in NYC. I’ve had several times when I’ve had gut feelings about people following me or making me feel uncomfortable, and I’ve always gone to the police about it. Better safe than sorry! Security is very tight in Times Square today- I walked through as usual on my way to work and there are cops everywhere, keeping close eyes on things. The subways are being closely watched too (anyone who has visited New York knows how lack the security in the subways usually is.)

So life goes on in the Big Apple- this is Carmin the Canadian, over and out!
