Our friend Cory is now an official new yorker! After begging for years, we finally convinced her to move to manhattan! We added another bedroom in our apartment by installing these huge glass sliding panels. Thankfully, Brandon was in town from Miami to help Dan put these bad boys in. They turned out great!

Dirty burger

My brother swears that the best burger he has EVER had is at Thunder Jacksons on Bleeker St. It's called the dirty burger, and it's served as is, with NO substitutions allowed. We went together last week and yes, it IS an amazing burger! The dirty fries are fantastic too!

Ok, folks- just in time for FRIDAY (whohoooooo!), here is my blog 'o the week pick: Hanzi Smatter.

It's a blog dedicated to the misuse of chinese/japanese characters in tattoos. People submit their tattoos, and the blog author deciphers them and says what they REALLY mean! Love this!

Interesting fact- I have a japanese tattoo. Yes, a tattoo. The only tattoo on my body, and it's tiny... about 2 cm tall and 4 cm wide. I believe it's my husband's name, spelled out, but maybe I should send it in to this blog and find out for sure! Also an interesting fact- my best friend, Kristi has the SAME tattoo (much larger) because her husband has the SAME name!

Here's a quick sample:

This tattoo, literally means "crazy diarrhea," and it's ironically located just the waistline on the customer's lower back. teeheehee!!

Update: I researched my tattoo and it DOES say "Daniel"or "Danieru," as it is pronounced in Japanese. Here is what it's supposed to look like:

Have a seat

This jerkwad took up a WHOLE SEAT on a crowded NYC bus at rush hour for his CAKE. Are you kidding me? Tourists, PLEASE be considerate? Did your cake pay $2.25 to ride this bus? No? Well then hold it in your LAP like a normal person and give the seat to a little old lady.

He's lucky that I already had a seat or else I would have SAT right down on his cake and pretended like I didn't see it!! Don't even think I wouldn't!

8/9/10!!!

Yesterday was my BIRTHDAY, for all you lurkers out there who read my blog religiously but NEVER comment. SHAME on you for not saying happy birthday! :)

My birthday was the most awesommest date EVER- 8/9/10!!! amazing!!! I'm convinced that this means my year will be the BEST ever!

Also awesome was the gift my sweet husband surprised me with: a new charm for my Tiffany charm bracelet! Pink+cupcake+sprinkles= perfect!!!!

Goodbye friend

We sold both of our black Jacobsen Egg Chairs- we are adding a second bedroom in our apartment and we decided the chairs would be oversized in the new living room space. They found a great owner- a designer here in manhattan that stages apartments for sale bought them from us and we made good money on them. I will miss them, though- they are so chic! Now our apartment will be ALL white! Yay!

Old timey

I walked past this barber shop on 9th ave yesterday while we were headed to brunch. I just love the old school barber pole- I've never seen a tall one like this. And it actually worked! It spun around and around; very hypnotizing!
