    Girls are like
apples on trees. The best
ones are at the top of the tree.
The boys don't want to reach for
the good ones because they are afraid
of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they
just get the rotten apples from the ground
that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples
at the top think something is wrong with
them, when in reality, they're amazing.
They just have to wait for the right
boy to come along, the one
who's brave enough
to climb
all the way
to the top
of the tree

twitter

So, I was late in joining this fad called Twitter (anyone heard of it?) jk...

And, I'm still undecided whether I actually like it. I guess it's good for family and friends, but I don't really want the entire public knowing my every move or detail of my life. We'll see if it grows on me or not... I'm definitely a blogger at heart. And I can't use twitter at work, so I really only check it like once a day.  Anyway, I'm giving it a shot. No expectations of glory.

If YOU are A TWIT, feel free to add me.  Maybe I'll like it if I actually have some friends.

cn8dnchick- that's me!

Another new fav

Add this to my list of fav foods: GNU bars. They're packed full of fiber and they're delicious at just 140 calories!

My favorite are chocolate brownie and banana walnut.  Peanut butter is meh...not so great. Try the two flavors I menioned!  I buy them at whole foods, and I know that not everyone lives near whole foods, so try a health food store, or order from the website.  Maybe amazon.com has them?

Super filling snack on the go! And did I mention DELICIOUS? oh, I did? Well yes, they ARE!

Still around?

Hey, guys- sorry for the lack of posts. I've been struggling to find time to blog lately. First order of business is that we're cancelling our super duper HD cable and going back to basic 5 channels. We watch too much tv, so hopefully, this will give me more time to blog, more time to enjoy my beautiful city, and more time to work on my music!

Don't leave me- I promise to keep blogging. In the mean time, make sure you're checking www.carmineanddan.blogspot.com for more updates on our public blog.

In other news, I've been working on some new songs, and I'm going to record some videos and test them out on my little audience here on this blog to see what you guys think! Stay tuned for more!

Most Dangerous Cities

Based on City Crime data, the list of the most dangerous cities in America has been compiled for 2008-2009. Check out the ranking:

1 New Orleans, LA
2 Camden, NJ
3 Detroit, MI
4 St. Louis, MO
5 Oakland, CA
6 Flint, MI
7 Gary, IN
8 Birmingham, AL
9 Richmond, CA
10 North Charleston, SC
11 Cleveland, OH
12 Baltimore, MD
13 Miami Gardens, FL
14 Memphis, TN
15 Youngstown, OH
16 Atlanta, GA
17 Compton, CA
18 Orlando, FL
19 Little Rock, AR
20 Minneapolis, MN
21 Washington, DC
22 Philadelphia, PA shout out! Not bad, Philly- you're at least behind DC!
23 Jackson, MS
24 Newark, NJ
25 Milwaukee, WI

Crazy how Michigan has 2 in the top 10! Seems like a big factor in the crime rate of any city is the unemployment/poverty rate. Oh, and please note that NEW YORK CITY is NOT on the list. So stop worrying about me walking at night! You mid-westerners should be more nervous than me- yikes! :)

Check it out!

I just LOL'd at Sarah and Joe's vacation photos. Check out their blog on the right or just be lazy and click HERE

For Sarah Rife

My friend Sarah has her own cupcake business and when she and her husband, Joe, came to NYC we sampled the best cupcake places in town- except this little gem, hidden on 55th and 1st Ave. I was over in this neighborhood for a doctor appointment today and I saw this adorable wooden sign!

"Say it with Flour!" Great name for a bakery, right? And this place is AMAZING! the most adorable, decorated delights you can imagine! The lady that runs it chatted with me for 10 minutes, they are so friendly there!!

So, everyone- add it to your list of places to see when you come to NYC!

Harem SCARE 'EM!

One of this seasons most infamous trends seems to be Harem Pants. Some of us might remember them as "MC Hammer Pants." In any case, you'll recognize them immediately as the pants with the tight ankles and flappy, droopy crotch that hang down to your knees. You know what? I can see Harem pants being super cute, with the right styling and the right outfit. It's a sensitive trend, so I'm not advising that EVERYONE jump on the boat, but if you've got a skinny waist, no hips, and nice ankles, then I say GO FOR IT!
HOWEVER...
This item caught my eye at Mango. Please check it out below:

Let's just start by saying that when an article of clothing requires IDENTIFICATION, it's probably not a good thing. Upon first glimpse, it kind of looks like a cute denim skirt. But upon closer inspection, we find that there are LEG HOLES! *Gasp* That's right, these are SHORTS. HAREM SHORTS! Actually, it's hard for me to even call them shorts, since they look more like a giant DENIM DIAPER!

I say these shorts are horrifying (but, I'm curious to see what they look like actually ON...)

What say YOU, readers? Yay or nay on the harem pants/harem shorts?

Maybe if you're born after 1984 you won't "get" this at all!

lazzor music! from hypatia on Vimeo.

Some dude took the time to write some fancy nerd code to make this lazer printer into a musical instrument. Check out this beautiful rendition of Super Mario Brothers!

And flashback to your childhood, blowing off the nintendo disks so that they stop freezing in the machine!

Bad Paintings of Barack Obama

Of course, the down side of having such an AWESOME President is that there are a million "artists" who think that they can be inspired to create great works of art in his honour.

Nothing brightens my day like this

I was on the track at Columbus circle on my way to the office Friday, and not ONLY was I happy that the weekend was only a day away, but THIS old sweetie was there!! I've blogged about him before- he always turns up in the weirdest places- it's impossible to know where to see him next! He's an NYC hidden treasure, that's for sure! He plays litltle diddy's on his keyboard, and honestly, he's not very good- BUT you can't help but love him and his little dancing robot dolls! LOL
