The birth of a mom

The first time we met:

There was something so familiar about her- like we had already already met. This tiny creature that the world had never known but I knew her already.

Holding her for the first time was like We had already known each other. I realized that her heart had beat from my own.

I know, I know

I really do love blogging, and I know I've been neglecting to update recently. As you can guess, I am a wee bit BUSY at the moment, in these last final weeks before Baby Bean makes his/her entrance into this big new world.

Hang in there, and keep checking- I will be updating soon!

Great family photos- Inspiration for all you families out there!

THIS SERIES of family photos is about the coolest and most gorgeous I've ever seen. A family of 8 (that's right, 6 kids!) and every single picture looks amazing! How do they do that?!

Happy Father's Day! We are so excited to celebrate this day with our little baby Bean! Even though Mama's feet were hurtin' pretty good after a long day shopping in SoHo, I still wouldn't trade this feeling of having a baby inside me for anything!  Baby is crammed in there pretty tight- growing big, measuring at least a full week ahead! Can't wait for Baby to pack up it's bags and head south so that I can breathe and eat again- there is just NO ROOM!

Florida...last trip before the baby!

The day after our baby shower, I flew to Orlando for a week of vacation with my best friends Kristi, Danny, Candice, and all their little kiddos! We rented a 3 bedroom condo and it was a fabulous vacation! Pool, lunch, more pool, shopping, dinner, and sleep- that was pretty much our schedule!

I'm not a sun-worshiper, I'm a SHADE-worshiper! Ahhhhh

I didn't like the alligator warning signs too much...

It took a while to get used to seeing this big belly in a swimsuit! I swear I have on bottoms in this picture, but it looks like I don't! hahaha

Horizontal stripes, while very fashionable this season, highlight the enormity of this baby belly!

Magnolia trees were blooming all over the resort- I thought they were so gorgeous!

Baby showering

Our friends threw us an amazing baby shower and we had so many people come and celebrate with us! Thanks again to everyone who made this day so special and showered our baby with gifts!

I will post pictures of the decorations and party soon! Here's a picture of  my husband and me during the party. The theme of the party was "Welcome to the Nest" and everything was bird/nest themed, in teal and brown. So classy and cute!

BYOB- bring your own box

I love this idea for a children's birthday party with cardboard boxes as the theme! What kid doesn't love BOXES?

And so it grows

Baby and I visited our midwife this week and everything is going great! I had a conversation with my little Bean, and thanked him/her for being such a good, smart baby, and treating Mama so well. I've had no discomfort, no problems, no complications, and baby is growing right on schedule. The midwife said that baby was a bit ahead of the game because it's already head-down and in position at 29 weeks. My ginormous belly (which I like to call "The Situation" now) is visibly growing bigger by the day. My skin is stretched so tight and I'm massaging olive oil on The Situation now in desperate hopes to not have any stretch marks.

Sleep is starting to come in 2 hr bursts, which I'm told is common in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I guess it's nature's way of preparing me for my new nocturnal party buddy who's arriving in just a few short weeks. We are excited for our baby shower, coming up next Saturday, and we tell everyone we can about how amazing www.myregistry.com is for baby showers, wedding showers, and all types of registrations. You can consolidate a bunch of items from lots of different stores into ONE registry, so everything is so easy- just click and buy! Seriously, check it out!

I'm still getting used to feeling little teeny toes wrapped up in my ribs, and I love watching my belly roll around and pulse with the kicks of our little Bean. I've been using Belly Buds speakers to play music to the baby every evening- Chopin, Mozart, and of course, music by Mama (me!). When I sit down to play the piano, baby gets so excited and loves to hear me sing!
